Nicholas is the founding attorney of Appell Trial Attorneys. Nicholas specializes in personal injury claims, such as motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, and dog bite related claims. In addition to personal injury, Nicholas also practices employment law and worked on the landmark California Supreme Court decision in Donohue v. AMN Services (2021), which clarified meal and rest break laws for employees.

Nicholas has resolved tens of millions in personal injury and employment law claims. Notably, he went to trial against the nation’s largest retailer in 2024, achieving a confidential settlement that was over three times higher than the pre-trial offer. In the same year, he also settled a slip-and-fall case in San Diego’s Gaslamp District for over $2 million, in addition to a $1 million traumatic brain injury case against a rideshare company.

Nicholas originally grew up in Los Angeles, but decided Los Angeles was no longer for him and defected from being a Dodgers fan to a Padres fan. After moving to San Diego, Nicholas attended California Western School of Law, where he made the Dean’s Honor Roll, earned academic scholarships, and gained experience clerking for a plaintiff employment law firm and a nationally recognized insurance defense firm. Realizing his heart was not in insurance defense, he chose to help the proverbial “little guy” to fight for those who have been injured or wronged by others’ negligence.

In his free time, you can find Nicholas on a golf course shooting bogey golf, at a Padres game, or attempting to be an amateur chef.
